Reverence
Hina, a 15-year-old sea goddess is riddled with self-doubt and is searching for a reason to believe in herself. Two years ago, she was sent across the continent to her colony, her home for eons to come. As a spiritual and political figure, her image and rule are controlled by her advisors through propaganda artwork. She doesn’t match this image at all and is forced to reckon with this in addition to the harsh ruling style that she is known for.
One night, she finally decides to take control of her life and tries to run away. On her way out of the village, she stumbles upon an outdoor lecture where the people have gathered to learn about their history. Now, every night the young goddess sneaks out to attend lectures and talk to elders in the village. Through this quiet journey, she slowly uncovers and accepts the reasons for her existence.
